Steele, Willard Karl

About Willard K. Steele

Steele was born in Ohio and went to study at the Herron School in Indiana. In 1936 Steele was a nearing graduation when he created a painting entitled, "Frightened Horses". This painting was entered into the Hoosier Salon that year winning first prize. It was also used as his final project at the Herron School.

He continued to live in Indiana until after WWII when he moved to Illinois to teach at Wheaton College.
