About Charles Arter Born in Hanoverton, Ohio, Charles Arter studied in Cincinnati and Paris at the Academie Julian. He had studios in Venice, London and New York and painted portraits of many famous personages including Pope Pius X. He was decorated by the King and Queen of Italy for the portraits he did of them. |
